Official places to report crypto and investment fraud in Australia, and the latest local warnings.
Where to report
- Scamwatch (ACCC) — National scam reporting.
- ReportCyber (Australian Cyber Security Centre) — Cybercrime reports go to the police from here.
- ASIC — The financial regulator; report misconduct by an investment or crypto firm. IDCARE helps with identity theft: 1800 595 160.
Do this first
- Stop sending money, including any “fee” or “tax” demanded before a withdrawal.
- Call your bank, card issuer or exchange: some payments can still be stopped.
- Keep every message, wallet address, transaction ID and the website address.
- Report to the police and to the regulator above. Each report helps the regulator warn others.
- Ignore anyone offering to recover your money for an upfront fee.
