Report a crypto scam in United States

Where to report

• FTC ReportFraud — The main US front door for any scam; reports reach thousands of law-enforcement agencies. Phone 1-877-382-4357.
• FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) — File here if you sent money or crypto; speed matters for any attempt to freeze funds.
• CFTC complaint and tip form — Leveraged crypto, forex, trading bots and pooled trading schemes.
• SEC tips, complaints and referrals — Token offerings, crypto lending and anything sold as an investment.

Do this first

1. Stop sending money, including any “fee” or “tax” demanded before a withdrawal.
2. Call your bank, card issuer or exchange: some payments can still be stopped.
3. Keep every message, wallet address, transaction ID and the website address.
4. Report to the police and to the regulator above. Each report helps the regulator warn others.
5. Ignore anyone offering to recover your money for an upfront fee.
